CAREER: Joined the Major League staff in 1999...has worked the Division Series each year from 2003-05...previously umpired in the Pioneer League (1992), Midwest League (1993), Florida State League (1994), Eastern League (1995-96), International League (1997) and Pacific Coast League (1998).
PERSONAL: Mark patrick Wegner...born on March 4, 1972 in St. Paul, MN...resides in Florida...married Michelle Mullins and has three children - Nathan, Joseph, and Tori...participates in church activities, Sharing and Caring Hands, St. Anthony of Padua's Friends and ProLife activities...as a senior, was co-captain of his high school baseball team...taught himself how to throw left-handed in high school after severely injuring his right arm during his freshman year...proudest moment of his Major League career was working home plate for the first time...enjoys spending time with his family and working out in the off-season.
BLUE FOR KIDS: Mark serves on the BLUE for Kids Board of Directors. He is a weekly contributor to the BLUE Crew Tickets program which offers tickets and Meet & Greet opportunities for children in mentoring programs and foster care. Mark has also participated in two Big League BLUE Reach events.
